David Gemmell - Director
Following wide management and entrepreneurial experience, David ran the very successful Austrade International Trade Expansion Scheme between 1993 and 1997 and then became the co-founder of Venture Capital Partners.
VCP has successfully run a $30m fund in Australia and established funds in Samoa and Fiji. VCP has also assisted Government with the establishment of such schemes as the EFIC Working Capital Guarantee and the AusIndustry R&D Concessional Loan Scheme. David has also advised AusAID on the management of its Enterprise Challenge Fund. He has been a director of over 30 companies.
Hugo LeMessurier - Director
Hugo has held directorships and senior management positions in start up, listed and multinational organisations in the USA, EU and Australia.
He has founded and directed Australian companies in the food, service and housing industries, and he understands what it takes for SMEs to develop and thrive in today’s marketplace. Hugo is Managing Director of LeMessurier Solutions, Director of Cryptogen Pty Ltd and Moducom Pty Ltd. He is a member of the University of Adelaide Commercial Accelerator Scheme and Commercial Opportunity Panel, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, BioAngels, SA Angels, Australian Association of Angel Investors and AusBiotech. Hugo also currently acts as the COMET Business Adviser and is a Commercialisation Australia Case Manager in SA.
Stephen Newman - Director
Stephen is a management professional who has held a variety of senior management positions over the last twenty years. These positions include supervisor, Human Resources Manager, Operations Manager, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Stephen is currently a director of a number of private companies.
Stephen has experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and has led remuneration and risk management committees. He holds an advanced Diploma of Business Management and is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of the Australian Institute of Management, is an accredited facilitator and accredited Leadership Coach.
